HOW WE CAN HELP

We support anxiety disorders, depression and past trauma

At Mind The Way, we know anxiety, depression, and past trauma don’t always show on the surface. You might be managing day to day, but inside there’s tension, heaviness, or a sense that something isn’t quite right.

Anxiety can feel like constant worry, restlessness, or a fear that won’t ease -sometimes with a clear cause, sometimes without.

Depression may show up as flatness, exhaustion, self-doubt, or a quiet sense of disconnection from yourself or the world around you.

Trauma doesn’t always come from one event; it can build over time through experiences that felt too much, too often, or were never fully acknowledged.

We’re here to help you understand what’s beneath the surface, ease the weight you’ve been carrying, and reconnect with a steadier, more grounded version of yourself.

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like being constantly “on.” Racing thoughts, tight chest, never quite able to relax. Whether it’s tied to stress, past experiences, or seems to appear out of nowhere, it takes a toll.

We support you to:

  • Understand what’s really driving your anxiety

  • Ease the pressure of ongoing worry and fear

  • Settle your nervous system and find calm in your body

  • Build inner confidence and emotional clarity moving forward

Depression

Depression can feel like a weight you can’t shake—low energy, heavy thoughts, disconnection from yourself and others. Some days it’s numbness, other days it’s overwhelm. And often, it’s hard to explain.

We support you to:

  • Understand the emotional roots and patterns behind your low mood

  • Reconnect with a sense of meaning, motivation, and hope

  • Shift self-critical thoughts and old beliefs that keep you stuck

  • Rebuild energy, self-worth, and emotional balance—step by step

Past Trauma

Trauma isn’t always a stand alone event. Sometimes, it’s the accumulation of being unheard, unseen, or overwhelmed—experiences that quietly shape how you move through the world.

We help you:

  • Process past experiences that still feel heavy or unresolved

  • Rebuild a sense of safety, trust, and emotional steadiness

  • Break free from negative patterns and beliefs that keep you stuck

  • Move forward with more self-compassion and strength

The link between anxiety, depression and past trauma

Not all anxiety or depression is trauma-based—but often, they’re connected. If your nervous system has learned to stay on high alert or shut down in response to overwhelm, it may still be reacting to things long past. We help you recognise those patterns, understand where they come from, and gently shift into something steadier, calmer, and more grounded.

You don’t have to keep carrying what’s been weighing you down. We’re here to walk beside you - toward clarity, calm, and a deeper connection to yourself.

Take the first steps toward improving your mental health

What you can expect in your sessions

Whether you've tried counselling before, or not, seeing a new therapist can be overwhelming.

In your first session we'll spend some time going through your concerns and any relevant history. We'll answer any questions you have about Mind The Way and our processes. It's important to establish a good foundation in your first session so we can set up a treatment plan that will work for you. Before leaving, we'll make sure everyone's on the same page with this treatment plan.

In your ongoing sessions, we will continue to build on the therapist/client relationship. We'll work through your treatment plan keeping your best interests and goals front of mind. We like to take a collaborative approach to help you achieve relief from your mental health concerns, enabling you to live a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
